2030 Youth Force in the Philippines holds first General Assembly

The 2030 Youth Force in the Philippines held its 1st General Assembly for member-advocates last August 19th at the Cinematheque Centre in Manila. Over a hundred member-advocates were in attendance.
United Nations Development Programme Management Unit Team Leader, and YFPH adviser, Miss Lui Jolongbayan delivered a keynote speech where she talked about the significant role of the youth in accelerating the attainment of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
National Convenor Jules Guiang then presented a progress report of the formation since its founding in October 2016. After which, heads of different committees and members of the National council presented comprehensive reports of their respective committees.
The youth in attendance also participated in various activities, as well as in the launch of #HackSociety2017, part of this year’s Social Good Summit in the Philippines, organized by UNDP Philippines and Rappler.
The 2030 Youth Force in the Philippines Inc. is the youth partner of UNDP in this year’s #HackSociety under UNDP in Asia and the Pacific‘s Regional Youth Program on Leadership, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Learn more about it here.
The program closed with a screening of the movie titled “Sonata” starring Cherie Gil. “Sonata” revolves around the story of a depressed woman who lost her art and went to self exile, but with the help of the entire village, she was able to conquer herself and restore her mental well-being.
